Understanding Our Home Organizing Process from Start to Finish

I've had many people tell me they have considered hiring a professional organizer to work in their home, but that they have hesitated to do so. Cluttered and disorganized spaces might be stressing you out. You would like to do it yourself, but you just don't have the time or maybe you are a bit afraid you will be judged for the lack of order. 

We understand all of that. Our service is professional. Stress-free. Judgement-free.

Step #1: The Initial Consultation & Project Planning

We start with a phone call. I’ll ask you to share a bit about yourself, what is not working in your home and what your ultimate goals are for your space. If you can send me a few pictures, that's often enough for me to estimate the time and cost for your project. If I need to see the space in person, we will set a time for me to come take a peek.

Next, we start planning your project based on all the information gathered. Every client, every project, and every space is different. What we plan for your project will be personal to you.

Step #2: The Sorting, Organizing & System Setting

Our general process for most projects is simple:

1. Sort all like or similar items together to create a visual for you to easily see which items might be ready for another "home." Any items you are ready to part with will be set aside for us to take to the nearest donation center.

2. Organize into zones, categories or containers (when appropriate), putting together the puzzle of maximizing your space. We will bring organizing products, such as drawer dividers, lidded bins or baskets, that we know and trust to be the best value and the right fit for your space.

3. Organize the newly contained categories, label everything, and create a system that will be easy to maintain long after we have completed your project.

Step #3: The Ongoing Maintenance Offerings & Routines

Now that your space is organized, encourage your family to get familiar with the new system. You may have to remind them for a while as to where things should go. Take a few minutes each day or week to play the "Put it where it belongs" game.

And if things just get too jumbled or chaotic again over time, we've got you. Give us a call and we will be happy to do another re-set. We call these sessions “Maintenance Appointments,” and we will love seeing you again. :)
